Cardiovascular Risk
Cardiovascular Risk
Unidad de riesgo cardiovascular
The cardiovascular risk is the probability of having a cardiovascular disease in a given period of time, usually 5 to 10 years.
- To modify the intensity of the reduction of risk based on the overall risk estimate.
Genetic testing for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases
Cardiovascular diseases cause more than 17 million deaths in the world each year. They are the leading cause of death in the western world and accounts for nearly half of all deaths in Spain.
In this sense, the different Scientific Societies and very active in recent years, recommend the estimation of cardiovascular risk in selected individuals, to classify them into different risk groups, and try to intervene on the natural development of the atherosclerotic disease.
